Stormwater Decision Making

This online webinar course focuses on MS4 stormwater permit compliance, local issues, and strategies for implementation as the keys to restoring and maintaining the waters of the United States, while avoiding regulatory violations.  The session will help Decision Makers understand the regulatory framework of MS4 stormwater permits and local ordinances to best support the efforts of field personnel.  Attendees will receive .3 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) from National Stormwater Center, and a Certificate of Participation.
 

This class will assist municipal stormwater officials, municipal executives, elected officials and other decision makers implement their municipal stormwater programs by assuring that they understand MS4 permit requirements on order to strategize cost-effective approaches to permit compliance. Compliance is essential; non-compliance with any part of the permit creates liability for state or federal enforcement and citizen suits, and ultimately jeopardizes the health of the prized rivers, lakes, and streams in their community.

The training covers the following topics:

  • Overview of the Clean Water Act and NPDES
  • MS4 Permit and Stormwater Management Program Requirements
  • MS4 Reporting
  • Stormwater Program Management Considerations: Funding, Staffing/Training, Measurable Goals and Communication

In addition, the class will discuss upcoming changes to MS4 permits due to federal regulatory changes. It is important that Stormwater Directors and Managers understand how these changes will impact their current operations. There will be an opportunity to discuss implementation strategies that are most beneficial to the MS4.

Course Length: 1 day/3 hours

Location:  Online Webinar.  Registered students will receive a detailed email prior to the start date. This email will include specific class daily start & end times, and Go To Webinar link information.

Course and Registration Fee:  $224.00 ($199 course, $25 registration)

Terms:  Class starting times subject to change.  Registration fee is non-refundable. Course fee may be applied to another scheduled class, transferred to another registrant, or it will be refunded if cancellation received a minimum of 14 days prior to class start date.  Attendees will receive .3 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) from National Stormwater Center, and a Certificate of Participation.

Cancellations:  Class fees are refunded if received 14 days prior to start date, registration fees are non-refundable.  Substitutions are allowed with notification to our business office.  Cancellation or reschedule requests made less than 14 days of the class start date may not receive a refund nor a transfer.  You agree to these terms when registering for the training.
